Video game preservation community Hidden Palace recently uploaded the early Akira video game prototype online, after being uncovered after being lost for over 25 years.
The Sega Mega Drive games were initially to be published in 1995 on different platforms but faced incompletion, having similar faith as Taika Waititi’s live-action Akira adaptation that is not arriving anytime soon due to production delays.
The prototype for one of the games is recovered, but not in full working order-the game isn’t playable all the way through, but according to Screen Rant, individual stages can be selected.
